I start this blog at the same time that I sign on to hospice care and say "no" to more intensive medical treatment for metastatic breast cancer. We’ve been fighting for 3 years and it’s time for peace. I’m 39 years old. This blog isn't a chronicle of my illness. Being one to find life interesting, I’ve reflected on, and written about some of my experiences. I hope you will be encouraged by what you read.... Maureen passed away in Dec 06; I will add more of her work, so read on; Steve M.

Goodness, 20 years out of high school and you still look fantastic (I could still pick you out of a lineup) -- and your writing still puts mine to shame!
